about
Inspiration
my stories are usually culminations of little moments that trigger a rush of emotions. a haunting sentence that i deeply resonate with, a beautiful song, a stranger’s greeting, a jar of milk tipped over in my kitchen, or even conversations i play out in my head. it rarely comes from ‘spectacular’ events.
Writing Process
a long brainstorming (daydreaming) period, involving tens of pages of character concepts, feelings i want to sit with, atmospheric exploration, and intriguing plot threads, followed by a slightly shorter outlining phase, leading up to months of drafting, seeking feedback, and revisions.
Favourite Books
the goldfinch by donna tartt, a thousand splendid suns by khaled hosseini, NEVER LET ME GO by kazuo ishiguro.

This book was born from a need to articulate a mental health journey that was, for a long time, complicated and unexplored. I viewed these experiences through the lens of memory science (and concepts from some of my earlier novels), which I’m exceedingly fascinated by. The result is a literary analysis of the self, meticulously tracing the images, scents, sorrows, and wonders that have made me, via a fictional medium.

Away from the keyboard, I’m usually studying memory disorders and depressive illnesses. Otherwise, I’m likely trying to befriend a neighbourhood cat, or falling down a rabbit hole of nerdy obsessions, like memorizing uselessly charming facts about pandas.
